We chose this German-made scraper because it is ideal for scraping a gesso surface. This smoothing scraper, also called a “Japan” scraper, has an aluminum handle without rivets, so it is easy to grip and permits easy cleaning by simply throwing it into water or thinner. The first-class, electrically-hardnened stainless steel blade is machine ground for maximum durability and a lifetime of wear. The precision-hardened blade measures 105 mm (4-1/8 in.) wide by 105 mm (4-1/8 in.) tall.
