Description

Great for larger wheel and sculptural forms, Standard Clay Company 547 Red Sculpture Clay is a red earthenware clay that has a very organic, raw quality.

Medium and fine grog give this clay body a coarse texture that provides strength while reducing shrinkage. Its color ranges from a reddish-orange color when fired to earthenware temperatures, and deepens to a brick red color if the temperature is increased.

Bisque fire to Cone 04. The recommended firing is Cone 6. Shrinkage is 10% at Cone 6, and absorption is 0.25% at Cone 6.

Standard Clay Company 547 Red Sculpture Clay comes in a 50 lb (23 kg) carton that contains two 25 lb (11 kg) bags. It is de-aired and ready to use.
