Description
What it does
- Creates a crackled texture as it dries on rigid surfaces
- Dries to a hard, opaque finish
- Maintains paint adhesion, durability and archival quality
How to use it
- Use on rigid supports only
- Can be used on its own and painted over once dry
- Can be mixed with acrylic color – using no more than 15% paint to 85% medium
- Apply paste evenly to surface with a palette knife
- Leave to dry for at least 24 hours before painting over
- Cracking will vary depending on how thickly you apply it – the effects will be more obvious on thicker applications but will take longer to dry
- When using on wood, seal with a base layer of fluid/gel medium and let dry before Crackle Paste application
- Fully compatible with all Liquitex products
- Recommended thickness for crackling effect is between 5 and 10 mm
How not to use it
- Dont dilute with water
- Dont force dry with a fan or heater as this may result in less or no cracking
- Dont try and slow the drying time by adding a slow drying medium as this will affect crackling effect
