More than a pencil, award-winning Leuchtturm1917 Drehgriffel Nr. 2 Mechanical Pencils offer artists and writers an indispensable tool with an iconic design. A twisting head made from precision-milled aluminum and steel narrowly tapers to a harmonious point to around the 0.7 mm, HB graphite lead. The hexagonal barrel, made of lacquered milled aluminum, is comfortable to hold and features cursive lettering based on an original script used in Germany before the 1940s. A large inner chamber holds several refills at once—simply twist the head to advance the graphite. The twisting mechanism automatically advances a fresh lead when needed.
