H157. Left-Hand Flange Turned Wood Oblique Holder
This holder is a favorite of some lefties for pointed pen scripts. (Others use a straight penholder or a standard-flange penholder.) With a pointed nib, use this left-flange holder as an oblique calligraphy pen for Copperplate, Engrosser’s, and Spencerian Scripts, and for Modern Calligraphy.
Choose: Ornamental, Tapered, or Zanerian.
The Ornamental Wood Holder has intricate ornamental turnings inspired by those on the Century Penholders. Color of holder varies.
The Tapered Wood Holder has a finely tapered classic shape. All Tapered are the same dark brown/black color. The reddish-brown color of the staff varies.
The Zanerian Wood Holder is made using the same wood (and colors) as the Ornamental version. The Zanerian design is a very slim shaft with a small finial on the tip. Each style has a brass flange (fitted for the Nikko G nib) and overall length of 6.5-6.75″.
The flange also works with the other G-nibs as well as Hiro #40, Brause Steno, Brause Rose, Gillott 404, and Hunt 513. The flange is removable and can be adjusted for various sizes of nibs.
