Description

Blick Epoxy Resin Kits make it easy to achieve a smooth, professional-quality finish on a wide range of creative projects. This two-part epoxy resin system combines Resin (A) and Hardener (B) in a simple 1:1 ratio, giving artists, makers, and DIYers a clear, high-gloss coating with dependable strength and durability. The low-odor, VOC-free formula cures to a diamond-hard surface and is UV-resistant to help protect against yellowing over time.

Use Blick Epoxy Resin to add a glossy, glass-like finish to paintings, mixed media artwork, sculptures, collages, photos, tabletops, home décor, and more. It’s also ideal for casting small pieces such as jewelry, pendants, charms, and keepsakes. For custom color effects, mix in compatible pigments, dyes, alcohol inks, or mica powders before pouring.

With a 45-minute working time, this epoxy resin gives you time to mix, pour, adjust, and refine your project before it begins to cure. Its thicker viscosity offers added control, especially for pour applications. For easier handling, warm the sealed resin bottle in a hot water bath for about 15 minutes before mixing. This optional step helps improve flow and allows trapped bubbles to rise more easily. For extra mixing consistency, some artists use the double cup method: mix thoroughly, transfer to a second clean cup, and mix again before pouring.

After pouring, surface bubbles can be removed with a heat gun or torch. The resin is dry to the touch in 6–8 hours, reaches approximately 95% cure in 24 hours, and fully cures in 72 hours. Each kit includes two bottles and is available in sizes suited for small projects, larger pours, and surface coating applications.

Approximate coverage is 4 sq ft for the 16 oz kit, 8 sq ft for the 32 oz kit, 16 sq ft for the 64 oz kit, and 32 sq ft for the 1 gallon kit. Coverage may vary depending on pour thickness, application method, surface type, and project conditions.

Cleanup is simple while the resin is still uncured. Wipe away residue with alcohol, mineral spirits, or acetone. Once cured, resin must be removed by sanding or scraping. Crystallization may occasionally occur, typically in Part A, due to cold storage or temperature changes during shipping or warehouse storage. This does not mean the resin is damaged. To restore normal clarity and viscosity, place the sealed bottle in a warm water bath before use.
