Silverpoint drawings tarnish over time creating warmer tones
Silverpoint is the centuries-old drawing method of drawing with silver. Traces of silver are left behind on specially primed surfaces. These marks and lines tarnish over time, creating warmer tones. Yasutomo’s Silverpoint Drawing Tools come with elegant bamboo-shaped wooden handles. The 99% silver drawing tips are available in 1mm or 2mm widths. Each point is beveled and can be used to create different line thicknesses. Points can be unscrewed and replaced as needed.
While silverpoint is usually done on gessoed surfaces, Yasutomo mineral paper is an excellent silverpoint substrate that requires no preparation! Simply use your silverpoint tool directly on the mineral paper to start drawing.
