Ideal for oils, acrylics, caseins, and alkyds, the New York Central Portrait-Smooth Artist Canvas Panels are manufactured using high-quality acrylic primed cotton canvas. Only the purest 100% cotton is used in the extra-tight weave to create an exceptionally smooth canvas free of the knots and bumps usually found in linen. The portrait-smooth canvas is then cleanly wrapped and adhered to a warp-resistant 3.5mm MDF board. Acid-free glue acts as an archival barrier between the MDF and the canvas.

Packaging Note: The primed canvas weighs 8.82 oz. per m2 and 7.37 oz per sq.yd. The square yard weight is listed on the canvas label; however, the correct weight is 8.82 oz.

Pre-Treated With Acid-Free Glue To Protect Against SID

Acid-free glue helps to prevent Support Induced Discoloration (SID) between the MDF and the canvas. While acid-free glue can help to avoid SID, it is also essential to protect the artwork from material and environmental factors that can cause deterioration.
