100% Cotton Paper Ideal for Screen Printing

Originally formulated decades ago for silkscreen printing, Arches 88 has gained a following for various printmaking techniques. The crisp white 140lb (300gsm) paper is dimensionally stable and provides a smooth level surface perfect for serigraphy. Arches 88 is a 100% cotton fiber paper that is acid-free and pH neutral. The buffered paper is un-sized for high absorption. A silkscreen printer can easily layer 50 to 100 colors on a single sheet of Arches 88.

Because the paper is un-sized, it is unforgiving, so a single ink spot or splatter will show up. This paper has many of the characteristics of blotter paper and must be handled with purpose and sensitivity. When working in intaglio, a misting or dampening is all that is required. The paper is ideal for other printmaking mediums such as etching or lithography and takes all pencil applications well.
