Joe’s Blue (Phthalo) – Joe’s Blue (Phthalo) is a transparent marriage of blue and green with high tinting strength and is excellent for painting tropical water. Joe suggests mixing Joe’s Blue with Joe’s Yellow to create a range of clean greens. Also, Joe suggests mixing less of Joe’s Blue with more of Joe’s Red to create a wonderful “wow” dark color, or take more of Joe’s Blue and less of Joe’s Red to create a nice cool dark color. Another combination is mixing Joe’s Blue with Alizarin Crimson Quinacridone to create a clear violet “background mountain” color.
