Great for classroom settings, these brightly colored, non-toxic glazes can be intermixed to create an endless palette of colors.

They dry quickly, speeding up handling time and allowing for the application of additional decoration — great for classroom settings. They also won’t dissolve or pick up previous coats of glaze. The liquid colors are consistent with fired colors, so you can easily visualize your finished piece while painting. Apply these glazes to cone 04/03 earthenware bisque and glaze fire to cone 06/05. Even on red clay, colors retain their vibrancy.

Some colors can be applied to soft fired stoneware bisque and glaze fired to mid-range (cone 5/6) while maintaining much of their color value. Color performance at cone 6 varies and is noted on each label. Because they fire to a high gloss finish, Blick Essentials Gloss Glazes do not require clear glazing. We recommend testing on your preferred clay body and firing temperature prior to use.

Blick Essentials Gloss Glazes can be applied to wet or leatherhard clay. When applying glaze to clay, apply 2–3 coats over the entire piece, leaving an area unglazed, such as the back or bottom, to allow for outgassing. Clay should be completely dry before firing.
